A full‑time, on-site supervisor oversees all children’s programs to ensure high-quality care, consistency, and direct support for staff and families.

Enhanced Staffing for Personalized Support

We maintain a 1:2 staffing ratio, ensuring every child receives ample individual attention and a supportive, responsive environment.

To maximize meaningful time with the children, we bring in extra staffing—such as cleaning support and cooks—during holiday periods and school breaks.

Overnight Safety & Support

The home is staffed overnight by two team members—one awake and one asleep—to maintain safety, comfort, and support throughout the night.

High Standards for Staff Qualifications

All staff meet rigorous education and credential requirements and complete comprehensive sector screening to ensure a skilled and trustworthy team.

Proactive Clinical Services

Our program includes access to a wide range of clinical supports, including:
  • Occupational therapy

A Supportive Home Where Children Can Thrive

Our home-based setting is designed to create a warm, consistent, and encouraging environment. We are deeply committed to delivering high-quality supports, fostering meaningful growth, and continuously enhancing our services to meet the needs of every child and family we support.

A Family Support Coordinator is available to families who have a child diagnosed with a developmental disability living in their home. Services are tailored to meet each families need and can include case management, linking people to community and government resources, assisting with funding applications and providing Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) Planning. TAY planning ensures a smooth transition to adulthood and adult services and starts at age 14.

Children's Services of Inclusion West Niagara offers planned respite in a centre-based environment for children and youth.

The staff ensures that the personal care, interventions, and daily living needs unique to each individual are met based on the information and documentation provided by the family, medical or other professionals. The staff encourages participation within the routines of the home, recreational events within the community, recognize individual personal interests and abilities and encourage skill development.

These services are designed to provide the family/ caregiver the opportunity to have their family member caringly and professionally supported outside of their home in a safe and homelike environment, to experience ‘away from home’ living, enhance their social skills through socialization with others, widen their friendship base as well as enjoy inclusive community activities.

Respite also provides the family with a break or time to rest, time to enjoy a vacation, resolve an emergency or critical personal matter, as well as the opportunity to share concentrated, quality time with other family members.

For additional information on Children’s Respite Services, please contact the Respite Program of Inclusion West Niagara at (905) 563-4115 extension 116.

Inclusion workers are assigned to children attending local community camps. Support is provided to campers with special needs to promote an engaged and fun camp experience. Availability can be limited weeks and is dependent on number of registrations and staff resources.
